| Event | General Membership Meeting, Professional Development Program, and Special Presentation by Rockefeller College |
| Description | The bi-monthly meeting of the New York State Training and Development Council (NYSTDC) will kick off this meeting event. Topics to be discussed include activities underway to meet the goals in the Executive Committee's focus statement for 2009-2010. The Professional Development Program that follows the meeting, "Using Kirkpatrick's Evaluation Model to Evaluate and Reinforce Learning," will be presented by NYSTDC Member Patrick Roche of the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). This presentation will give a brief overview of the four levels of Kirkpatrick's evaluation model, and will concentrate on ways to use levels two and three of the model to evaluate and reinforce learning. At the end of the presentation, participants will be provided with a tool to assist in evaluating whether a training program is effective in increasing and retaining learning. Finally, representatives of Rockefeller College will facilitate an open discussion to assess trainer development needs for the creation of the trainer competency tracks and certification process. Input is essential and all NYSTDC members are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion. This is a free event for NYSTDC members. Participants are responsible for obtaining supervisory approval prior to attending. |
